From styling dolls as a little girl to building a full-service beauty brand, Mercedes’ journey with hair has always been rooted in love, family, and purpose. Inspired by generations of women in her life — including her grandmother who famously pressed hair for the entire neighborhood, her cousin Alicia known for her flawless weaves, and her aunt Michelle who was her hair hero when she was younger — Mercedes carries a legacy of beauty, care, and transformation.
Without formal practice early on, Mercedes had a natural gift: she could simply watch and do. What began as doing family and friends’ hair soon revealed itself as something much deeper — a divine calling. Over time, that gift grew into a mission — not just to style hair, but to nurture it, build confidence, listen without judgment, and create a space for healing and empowerment.
Mercedes has over 17 years of hands-on experience with natural hair and extensions. She became a licensed natural hair stylist after graduating from Trends Beauty Academy in 2021, and she officially founded Mercedes Styles Hair Collection LLC in May 2021. However, the business itself began in 2018, marking 7 powerful years of service, growth, and transformation under the name Mercedes Styles.
Today, Mercedes Styles is a trusted brand known for healthy hair care, protective styling, and deeply personal client connections. Beyond the salon chair, Mercedes is a proud wife, mother of three, and the third eldest of nine siblings — roles that have shaped her strength, compassion, and determination.
Every braid, every conversation, every transformation is a reminder of her “why”: to honor the memory of those who inspired her, to uplift others through her God-given gifts, and to build a legacy rooted in beauty, purpose, and faith.
